Print a 3D model

Agents can author 3D-printable models and attach the finished part to a ticket, then hand it to your Bambu printer.

  1. Ask for the part as code. The agent writes OpenSCAD (.scad, rendered with openscad -o model.stl model.scad) or build123d or CadQuery (Python; uv add build123d; exports STL, STEP or 3MF). OpenSCAD ships ready to use; build123d is an opt-in install.
  2. Check it in the viewer. A finished model attached with add_artifact (.stl, .3mf, .step, .obj, .glb or .gltf, .ply) renders inline as an interactive viewer (online-3d-viewer), loaded only when you open it.
  3. Send it to the printer. Each 3D artifact gets buttons that launch the desktop app, since the board runs locally:
    • Open in Bambu Studio opens a raw model in the slicer, where you set orientation and supports and print. Point it at another slicer (OrcaSlicer, for example) with the slicer_app setting.
    • Send to printer hands a sliced *.gcode.3mf to Bambu Connect, the official send-to-printer bridge, through bambu-connect://import-file.

Turn both buttons off with the slicer_open_enabled setting. Slicing to .gcode.3mf stays a human step in Bambu Studio: the agent does not choose orientation and supports or drive the printer.
